The Beer Mile Invitational is a spectator event in which runners from around the world compete to outrun and, more importantly, outdrink each other. The competition gets underway as the first athlete chugs a beer, presents the empty can upside down over their head, and sprints off on a quarter-mile lap around The Barlow's easternmost block. The process is then repeated three more times as runners battle to swig and sprint! Just for perspective, the current world record stands at 4:34.35 held by Corey Bellemore of Canada.

There are two ways to register for the Beer Mile Invitational:

1. Compete as an Elite

There are two heats in the Beer Mile Invitational - one for elite runners, and one for our Brewery Challenge Relay Teams. Elite runners wishing to enter are encouraged to send a resume to elite@destinationraces.com. Please note that elites are required to submit their entries 7 days prior to the event. In-person Expo and Race Day sign-ups are not permitted.

Awards:

1st - $300 + Beer prize pack
2nd - $200 + Beer prize pack
3rd - $100 + Beer prize pack

Please include your first name, last name, age, email, and phone number as well as your PRs, recent results, notable accomplishments, hometown/college, and a photo if possible. Cheers!

2. Join a Brewery Team

There are two heats in the Beer Mile Invitational - one for elite runners, and one for our Brewery Challenge Relay Teams. Each participating brewery will receive four slots to build their relay team. Each team member will chug one beer and run one quarter-mile lap. Breweries are free to do what they like with their slots - some may give their entries to employees, others will raffle off spots on their team. If you want to be part of a Brewery Challenge Relay Team, get in contact with one of our Brewery Partners.
